music

i have a few musical artist projects.
they see different levels of investment at any given moment.

violet boy

this is my primary music project.

guitar-, synth-, and vocal-driven electronic indie alt-pop with major inspiration pulled from artists like eden and brakence among others. i like to call it my “sad boy music” lmao.

the stuff i put onto this profile, and particularly streaming services, has the most of my effort put into it, and i like to get full releases professionally mixed and mastered. as such, currently progress has (kind of) stalled at one song released, but i’m working on a couple things in the pipeline!

florist shop

this was initially a soundcloud side account that was intended for WIP’s, vocal covers, and assorted random snippets and remixes i didn’t find fit for the main violet boy project.

over the past couple of years however, it’s become the moniker i’ve used while performing improvised experimental electronic and ambient shoegaze music using modular synths, drum machines, guitars/pedals, etc. live locally in the st. louis area.

since the project is haphazardly stacked atop an old soundcloud alt account, it doesn’t have the same social media presence that my main project does and there’s not a ton on streaming services since it’s all improv’d and i don’t record it. but if you’re around you’ll probably see me around. say hi!

mephysto

if you’ve read this far and you’re still interested, might as well put this project here since it is something i’ve done.

i made electronic music under the mephysto name when i was a lot younger.
i did release a handful of songs on spotify/apple music, but these days i’m not entirely happy with what my proficiency was at the time, and cringe when i listen back to it.

a lot of this predates my current inspirations mentioned above so the arrangements and songwriting is markedly different, in addition to the sound design/mixing/mastering inexperience.
